Last night, the three of us were crazy enough to wait up for the full moon to appear. We left our house about 8:45pm and drove around through dark, windy roads, looking for a good vantage point to view the moon. Just as a big yellow ball appeared over the trees, we found the perfect spot! A country road in the-middle ofnowhere'sville. This now our new official moon-watching-spot.
After eating our official moon-watching-munchies (an idea I wish I could take the credit for) we drove home. Much to our delight, here the moon sat, glowing over our house for a few glorious minutes.
Moon watching is a great motivation to get out of bed before dawn in the morning. Here it is this morning, about 6:15am. It was still shining brightly in the sky.
As the sun came up, it was still perfectly huge, round, and golden.
6:30am... time to call it a night for Mr. Moon. He was gone just seconds after I snapped this photo behind the haze.
If you have the chance, and the sky is clear, go moon-watching tonight!
“Moondance” by Van Morrison
Well, it’s a marvelous night for a moondance.
With the stars up above in your eyes.
A fantabulous night to make romance ‘neath the cover of October skies.
And all the leaves on the trees are fallin to the sound of the breezes that blow.
And I’m trying to please to the callin of your heart strings that play soft and low.
And all the nights magic seems to whisper and hush.
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush.
Can I just have one more moondance with you…my love?
Can I just make some more romance with you…my love?
