Here's what they look like when they're stretched and ready to go (these are shown wrapped in plastic for protection.) Once unwrapped, they are very cute hanging on a wall. The flowers are printed onto canvas and then stretched onto wooden bars so they don't need frames. Most people cannot tell that they are prints because they look exactly like the originals.

It’s time for me to order some more flowers…

I am absolutely, and completely out of stock of all Ten of my flowers in bottles prints. And since Greenville Open Studios is coming up next month, it’s time to re-stock my supply of giclee prints.

So if you want a deal, e-mail me by Monday, and I will give you a SALE price of just $60 EACH for any of these ten 8″ x 16″ flower giclee prints that you pre-order! (Plus shipping if you can’t pick them up at my studio or home in Greenville, SC.)

Just contact me through: order@mariescottstudios.com

You can click on this link to see a better view and read the details of each of these 10 prints. But don’t order them through Pay Pal or you’ll get charged the full price.

PS Based on my own personal gift-giving experience, these fun flowers make really great presents!

40 years of marriage deserves a Big Vacation

SANTORINI AFTERNOON • 16 inches x 12 inches • ©2011 Marie Scott

Merry Christmas, Happy Anniversary, and Happy Birthday!

As of today, my parents have been married for about 41.75 years. In the spring of 2010 they took a Mediterranean cruise to celebrate both their 40th Anniversary and 60th Birthdays.

This painting is a Christmas gift for my dad. I painted it from one of the many beautiful photos he took while on their “trip of a lifetime.” The scene is from an afternoon they spent together exploring Santorini, Greece.

I am so lucky to have parents who still love each other after so many years. I hope this painting will always remind them of both the wonderful they had together, along with the reason they celebrated — the huge accomplishment of spending a committed lifetime together.

Thanks for setting such a great example of what TRUE LOVE is Dad and Mom!

Above is a short video showing the painting in progress from start to finish, including my snack of Greek Yogurt. The music is fitting to the marriage, not the country of Greece. 🙂 (“Look At Us” by Vince Gill)

PAWLEYS MORNING • 40 inches x 30 inches • ©2011 Marie Scott

Here is a commissioned oil painting I just completed of a beach home on Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

My main goal in this piece was to capture the feeling of waking up early on a sunny summer vacation morning.

I hope my clients like it!

My new view.

Art Crossing 201 Studios is located along the river in Downtown Greenville.

I’m all moved into Art Crossing 201 Studios.

I miss the windows in my home studio.

I miss working near my family too.

I do love the setting of this new studio… I couldn’t ask for a better morning walk.

So we’ll just see how it goes working downtown in my new space. I’m here for now, so I’ll make the best of it, and get lots of painting done since there are no windows (or computer) to distract me.

If you want to see my studio in person… be sure to stop down the weekend of September 9, 10, and 11. I’ll be open the same hours as the Indie Craft Parade, which is going on just right across the river!

This sunny painting is one of three commissioned pieces I’m working on this month.

They are each inspired by a trip we took to Pawleys Island, South Carolina in June.

I am moving.

But just down the road to a studio in downtown Greenville. It’s called ART CROSSING, and starting on Monday I’ll be painting in Studio 201.

This will be my 4th Studio since I began living my artist’s life in 2001.

I hope I like it.

I’ve had a few adventures at Goodwill and other fun places like that, searching for recycled treasures to make this 4th studio feel like home.

I better finish packing.

Shipping a big orange poppy

POPPY (giclee print) • 36 inches x 18 inches • ©2007 Marie Scott

Summer’s Over so I’m back in my Beloved* Studio!

First order of business… shipping a BIG ORANGE POPPY giclee print. (This came after ordering the print from Milwaukee, ordering the stretcher bars, stretching the print, and then packing it all up for the UPS man.)

I hope my new collector from Charleston likes it!

*Beloved: A word that our 8-year old son has recently adopted into his vocabulary. Not sure where that came from, but it certainly adds an interesting flair of drama our conversations.

This print is 36 inches tall, by 18 inches wide, by 1.5 inches deep. JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL!

Here it is hanging up on my green wall to test it out. I think it's pretty striking! Maybe I need to order myself one of these. Hmm...
